The Cherry Blossom Festival is something we've wanted to see for a long time. We had a free weekend and decided to make the short four hour bus ride to Washington D.C. Sadly, we were too early to see the trees in full bloom but were still able to see a lot of beautiful flowers. The cherry blossoms and monuments were great but the best part of the trip was spending time with family and friends. My Aunt Rosie and good friend from college, Mckell, both live near Washington D.C. We stayed the first night with Rosie and she showed us around town. We rode bikes, saw all of the blossoms and even a fireworks show! The next night we stayed with Mckell and her husband Brandon. They made us pancakes for breakfast and we all watched conference together. In between sessions, Brandon took us to Arlington National Cemetery to see The Changing of the Guard. What an incredible experience it was. The guards are protecting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers day and night, 24/7. We learned so much during our weekend trip and can't wait to get back soon. Thank you Rosie and Mckell for the best time!
