Sailing.

sailing the hudson river has been on our to do list for a year and a half now. since we stayed in the city for the fourth it seemed like the perfect time to cross it off our list. all of us were pretty inexperienced when it came to sailing, but we were eager to learn. we ended up on a j24 sailboat with an awesome captain, jess, to teach us the ropes.

we set sail and for the first hour we were feeling really good. we were laughing, taking lots of photos and obsessing over new york city's skyline. and then bam! out of no where, manda and i were feeling the effects of the constant waves. we both felt so nauseous. looking out over the horizon and dipping our feet in the cold water were the only things that kept me from losing my lunch! despite feeling a little sea sick, we had the best evening on the water with some of our favorite people. we can't wait to sail again and practice everything we learned!
manda doing her part to help set sail, rather enthusiastically i might add!
jeffrey (secretly) loves taking photos, he usually gets the best ones too!
our instructor jess was so knowledgeable and relaxed working the boat, we loved her!
the guys learned a lot about how to work a sailboat.
it was really fun to watch them learn, they loved it.
