24 Hours of Fun.

My sweet friends Becky & Chelsie came to visit. I met these lovely ladies while living in Florida. I've missed them dearly, ever since moving away 8 months ago. I was so looking forward to their visit. What was supposed to be a 3 to 4 day trip turned into a 24hr trip (give or take a few hours), all thanks to Sandy the Hurricane. Becky flew in Friday evening and Chels came later that night. Luckily they made the 6:30am flight, Sunday morning, back home to beat Sandy's arrival to New York. Even though the trip was cut short, we sure packed in a lot of things food! We made the most of our time and had a wonderful, unforgettable 24 hours together.

The trip went a little like this...
Grimaldi's for Becky.
Big hit.
And what goes better with pizza than the BEST ice cream in the world at Milk.
We stayed up late Friday night catching up and giggling like school girls.
Saturday morning started off right with banana chocolate chip pancakes at Sarabeths.
We then made our way over to Central Park.
Something was apparently really funny. I love these girls.
The colors of the leaves were glowing and so bright. It was beautiful.
The girls had just mentioned how fun it would be to see someone famous. Two minutes later Ivanka Trump and her family walked around the corner. How random!
It was great to see all the different Halloween decorations around the city.
After the park the girls wanted to see Chinatown and Little Italy. They picked out cute souvenirs and I Love NY shirts for their kids. Then we did a little Canal street shopping. We made great memories sneaking in and out of the "magic rooms" and had a lot of interesting experiences... we'll leave it at that! I'm just going to say, some people down there are seriously cray cray.
East Village for tacos and mexican corn at La Esquina.
After dinner we walked around the Village for awhile before making our way up to Union Square. There we did more shopping and enjoyed dessert at Max Brenner's.
Believe it or not, on our way home around 10:00pm we passed Shake Shack and could't resist. I know, this is embarrassing to share but I wanted them to try our favorite burger! We got one and cut it into four pieces. Ha. We all felt like exploding after, but it was all so worth it!
Poor girls only had a few hours of sleep before they left for the airport. I'm thrilled we were able to spend the day together. And what a fun day we had together!

Ah! I love Becky and Chelsie. That's so fun that you guys were able to get together. I miss them... and you! I'm glad that you guys fared so well during the Hurricane. My little bro lives in the financial district and was not quite as lucky...

Kira, how are you!? I'm sorry to hear about your brother. Hopefully he's doing okay now. Sandy caused quite a bit of damage around here, so sad. I hope your cute little family is doing well!! Miss you!
