My family has rented a condo every October on Coronado Island. This was our 20th year and probably our last. My grandfather, who is now 86 years old, has been incredibly generous to provide a place for family to gather every year. I have many wonderful memories building sand castles, searching for sand dollars, swimming in the freezing ocean, and spending time with family.
The condo is a short five minute walk on the beach from the iconic Coronado Dell Hotel. This hotel is one of my favorite place's ever. It's a National Historic Landmark and has been open since 1888. Some of the famous guests through the years include Thomas Edison, Marilyn Monroe, Babe Ruth, Charles Lindbergh, and 11 U.S. Presidents. There is so much history here and you can feel it when you walk the halls. I feel so grateful to have spent so much time here.
Here's the condo we've stayed in all these years.

The view.
Living room.
My grandparents pickup flowers every Tuesday from the Farmers Market. Not only do they make the condo smell amazing they're beautiful to look at!
My Jeffrey. How'd I get so lucky?
Aren't they the sweetest!?
My grandparents holding hands while on their afternoon walk.
This beach has always had the most random looking seaweed.
"Forever and a Day"
This guy was great. Building sand sculptures while singing the Beetles.
The Dell had multiple falcons hanging out on the grass. I guess they help keep the seagulls away.
One of my favorite things to do is walk along Orange St. and peek in the little shops. They are all so unique and cute.
Burger Lounge, a favorite for lunch.
We spent a lot of time relaxing in this.
Most years we rent bikes and ride around the Island for hours. This year was no exception. There are the most beautiful homes along the beach.
The famous mushroom tree.
After our bike ride we enjoyed lunch at Miguel's for the MOST amazing queso dip.
California sunsets.
Before we left for the airport on Sunday, my sweetheart and I took a few photos on the beach.
It was SO bright I couldn't look up without my eyes watering! ha

Until next time, Coronado.

Wow that looks like so much fun! You take amazing pictures! I think the last one of the two of you should be your christmas card :) I tried to find a flight this weekend to come to NYC with mom but they were too expensive! I SO wanted to come back. We miss you guys terribly and I'm trying to convince Jeff that you need to come out for just a quick Thanksgiving trip :) LOVE YOU GUYS!
