I decided Jeff and I are new enough to the city that it's okay to get just as excited to do "touristy things" as our guest do. There's just so much to do and see here. Summer has officially made it's arrival to the city. It was in the mid to high 80's with 200% humidity! Okay maybe not 200% but it was HOT. Don't worry the weather did not slow us down.
Saturday morning started with brunch at Alice's Tea Cup.
katie's french toast.
almost too pretty to eat. almost.
my blueberry pancakes.
tea time.
we then made a stop at the MET.
this man must of spent countless hours drawing this statue. his work was beautiful.
loved this piece.
from a distance they look like dots but when close their actually people.
each one unique and different.
matt and katie are the cutest.
enjoying a piece of work his family had in their home while growing up.
next was Central Park.
i could watch this man make bubbles all day. he would put people inside of them too.
highlight of the day was when we stumbled onto a make shift roller skating rink and Matt had to get in on the action.
this guy was HUGE! looked like he was wearing a muscle shirt.
this week was Fleet Week and the service men and women were all over the city in uniform(or as I like to call them "outfits"). it was a treat seeing them around all weekend. so thankful for all they do to protect our country.
the beautiful Plaza hotel. i hope to stay there one night. just to say i did.
FAO Schwarz was next.
since watching the movie Big as a little girl, i've always wanted to play on the Big Piano.
my dream finally came true!
this was slightly embarrassing but so worth it!
Chrysler Building.
Grand Central.
we met up with Malia and her boyfriend Peter for lunch on Monday. she is Katie and Jeff's first cousin. she too lives in the city and recommended Freeman's. everything on the menu was wonderful. it was so good to see them.
cousins.
