Aloha Hawaii.

Jeff and I were lucky enough to enjoy two whole weeks in Hawaii this year. Mariel, Dustin, little Sophie, and Jami all joined in on the fun. We over lapped our trip with theirs so we could see them and enjoy Hawaii together. It was so great catching up on each others lives. We really miss living close to family. Trips like this make it a little easier. Hawaii was absolutely beautiful this time of year. We couldn't have asked for better weather. It was sunny with a high of 85 degrees most days. We woke up every morning overlooking the bright blue ocean. It really is paradise. 

We stayed with Jeff's grandparents who have a beautiful home on the island of Oahu. They've lived in Hawaii for many years and Jeff's mother actually grew up there. Jeffrey spent most of his childhood summers in Hawaii with his family. We're so grateful to Papa Johnny and Tutu for letting us visit them for a few weeks. They are two of the most generous people we know and we love them dearly!

Here are some of the highlights:

Jeffrey's favorite beach is Makapuu. A stunning beach with great waves for body boarding. It's tucked up close to a big cliff with a little light house. We took a picnic and spent the afternoon relaxing, playing smash ball, and reading endless amounts of People magazines (thanks Tutu).

One afternoon we made our way down to Waikiki Beach for some surfing. With the help of Jeffrey I was able to catch and ride a bunch of waves in. Even though the waves were small, it was so much fun.

We had lunch on the water at Dukes.

We went sailing on a catamaran. We loved riding out on the nets, holding on for dear life. We were soaked and laughing the whole time. It was a blast.

One evening Papa Johnny and Tutu took us to their Canoe Club for dinner. It was so beautiful, on the water, and had amazing food.
